The view here is to the northwest, with Vermont and the Green Mountains visible in the distance. Mount Ascutney can be seen to the immediate left of the cairn. The last time I was on the summit was over 10 years ago, but all in all, was not too sore the following day.
It occurred to me – long after taking this image – that the window of this outbuilding might have been left open as an act of kindness, to provide small animals some respite from the harshness of winter.
